This seminar is for Dentists who are interested in successful implant dental treatment in its various guises and how to tackle the problems that can arise.

Root-form dental implants have been utilised in contemporary dental practice since the early 1980s. Over this period we have seen a revolution in the macro-design and surface texture of implants, as well as the implant-abutment connection.

Course Overview:
1. Dr Michael Lewis, prosthodontist, will pose the question: how do these changes affect the form and hygiene of fixed dental prosthetics, with an emphasis on screw-retained bridges?
2. Dr Gary Smith also a prosthodontist experienced in mandibular implant retained over-denture treatment, will cover such topics as the number of implants and abutments that are required, abutment/retentive        anchor alternatives, implant position and orientation planning and failure.
3. Dr Kaye Kendall, a periodontist will talk on implant assessment and placement in dentate individuals together with the maintenance requirements of implant treatment.
4. Dr Terence Alexander (an oral and maxillofacial surgeon) will address surgical planning and complications with implant therapy with particular reference to implant retained over-dentures.
