COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Many orthodontic problems become apparent in the mixed dentition stage of development. There are certain ages when orthodontic screening is important for the growing patient.
Timely diagnosis, appropriate interception and carefully considered discussion with the family can have a significant impact on the patient’s short and long-term orthodontic and overall dental management.

Have you ever asked yourself the following questions:

• When should a crossbite be corrected?
• Can palatally ectopic canines be effectively intercepted?
• When is space maintenance appropriate?
• What are the appropriate management strategies for crowding?
• What is the most appropriate time to correct protruding front teeth?
• Is early Class III treatment more effective?
• When should I be concerned about an ankylosed primary molar?
• What is the best treatment option for a missing lateral incisor?
• What should I recommend for this compromised first permanent molar?

This clinically relevant course will provide attendees with an understanding of normal occlusal development and commonly encountered orthodontic problems. Knowledge gained from this course will assist clinicians in the diagnosis, evidence-based management and referral for patients with a developing malocclusion.
