This hands-on course will provide participants with enhanced theoretical and practical knowledge in the techniques for undertaking pulpotomies, and with the placement of stainless steel crowns in the primary dentition. This course includes a series of lectures, case presentations and hands-on exercises using anatomically correct replica teeth. Practitioners will gain experience in case selection, preparation techniques, materials selection and restoration to assist when undertaking pulpotomies, and with the placement of Stainless Steel Crowns in their clinical practice.

Dr Bruce Newman

Dr Newman graduated BDSc University of Queensland 1978. He completed his Graduate Certificate in Clinical Dentistry (Children’s Dentistry) at UQ in 1999 and his Masters in Paediatric Dentistry at UQ in 2007 and he has worked in government clinics throughout QLD. He was a member of the Dental Board of Queensland and its replacement, the Queensland Board of the Dental Board of Australia, for 14 years from 1997 to 2011. He provides lectures on placement of Stainless Steel Crowns to Undergraduate Dental Students in the BDSc and BOH courses at the University of Qld. He also lectures in Stainless Steel Crown placement to Qld Health employees. He is currently employed as a Dental Specialist in the Logan-Beaudesert Area Oral Health Service and is based at the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital.
