Dr Robert Turnbull

 BDS(Hons)USyd (1998), Grad.Dip.Clin.Dent.(Conscious Sedation & Pain Control)USyd (2006)

Dr Robert Turnbull has a practice dedicated to providing visiting dental sedation services to many dental surgeries across Sydney and New South Wales, where he manages the most fearful and anxious patients.

Dr Turnbull has fifteen years of experience in general dental practice, both in Private and Public (Royal Australian Air Force) dental settings. He regularly uses Nitrous Oxide Sedation to facilitate pain and anxiety relief on a variety of patients both as the sole modality of pain and anxiety control and to facilitate other sedation techniques (for example, to facilitate local anaesthesia or cannulation for needle phobic patients). Dr Turnbull is a firm believer in the safety and benefits of RA in Dentistry, and how to maximise the benefits of this technique sensitive treatment option.

Robert is on the Council of the Australian Society of Dental Anaesthesiology, responsible for managing their Annual Scientific Meeting and Emergency Management Training. He also teaches Intravenous Sedation and Management of Medical Emergencies, Anxiety and Pain Management, Relative Analgesia and local anaesthesia to dental undergraduate and postgraduate students in the IV Sedation Department of the University of Sydney at Westmead Hospital and Charles Sturt University where he is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer.
