New bioceramic endodontic cements (BECs) have been developed that offer key biological advantages for patients who desire to maintain their natural dentition. No longer is extraction (and implant replacement) the only treatment option for teeth presenting with extensive pulpal pathosis.;With proper case selection, BECs will predictably generate biological repair of the pulp and periodontium, and stimulate bone remineralisation. These materials can be predictably used in perforation repair, endodontic surgery and retreatment, treating resorptive defects, anatomical anomalies, apexogenesis procedures - and importantly, in all facets of vital pulp therapy.

This presentation will examine the literature supporting BEC usage and suggest advanced clinical strategies and indications for their clinical delivery and placement. Many cases with longterm recalls will be presented that demonstrate the effectiveness of BECs in maintaining pulp viability and in resolving apical periodontitis under challenging clinical circumstances.
