Dr Phillip Bushell-Guthrie

Dr Phillip Bushell-Guthrie BDSc (Honors), FRACDS, FRACDS OMS, MBBS, FRCS

Dr. Bushell-Guthrie is an experienced plastic and maxillofacial surgeon. He is a surgeon with more than 20 years of experience helping patients look and feel their best.

Born and raised in Brisbane, plastic surgeon Dr. Phillip Bushell-Guthrie attended the University of Queensland obtaining degrees in both Medicine and Dentistry. He then worked as a research fellow in the faculty of dentistry with the National Health and Medical Research Council. After completing his basic hospital training at teaching hospitals in Brisbane, Dr. Bushell-Guthrie undertook specialist training in plastic and maxillofacial surgery in England at The Royal London Hospital and Frenchay Hospital, as well as at The Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney. He later returned to Brisbane to enter practice in plastic, reconstructive, oral, and maxillofacial surgery with an interest in cosmetic surgery.

Dr. Bushell-Guthrie is a registered plastic and maxillofacial surgeon operating out of Brisbane and Mackay, Queensland.


Dr Mark Elliott

 Dr Mark Elliott BDSc (Hons), MS

Dr Elliott graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor of Dental Science degree with Honours from the University of Queensland Dental School.

In mid 1984, he joined BOH Dental and worked in private practice for three years before moving to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the USA to complete a Masters Degree in Prosthodontics at Marquette University School of Dentistry. Dr Elliott returned to Brisbane in 1990 and held a position of Clinical Registrar at the University of Queensland Dental School before returning to private practice at BOH Dental upon the retirement of Dr Keith Brain. Dr Elliott has continued to have a close working relationship with the University of Queensland Dental School.

Dr Elliott is a registered specialist in Prosthodontics with the AHPRA, and maintains membership of the Australian Dental Association, the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Prosthodontics, The Australian Prosthodontic Society, The International College of Prosthodontics, and the Academy of Osseointegration.

Dr Elliott enjoys the pursuit of new and challenging evidence based treatment modalities in an effort to deliver the most up-to-date care to his patients. His particular fields of interest are the use of Biomimetic principles to restore natural beauty, function and strength to patients dentitions and both the surgical and prosthetic phases of implant dentistry.

Dr Elliott provides fixed, removable and implant prosthetic services to people of all age groups.


Dr Duncan Campbell



Dr Campbell obtained degrees from universities in both Australia and New Zealand including: Bachelor of Dental Surgery, Bachelor of Medicine, Master of Dental Surgery, Graduate Diploma in Sedation and Pain control as well as both General (FRACDS) and Specialist (FRACDS OMS) fellowships from the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. Dr Campbell’s Maxillofacial training included appointments in Dunedin, Christchurch, Townsville, Gold Coast and Brisbane and he was lucky enough to be mentored and taught various techniques by the outstanding Maxillofacial Consultants at each training post.


Prof Laurie Walsh


Laurie Walsh is an internationally acclaimed laser clinician and scientist. As a dental specialist in the field of special needs dentistry, Laurie has been using multiple laser wavelengths in clinical practice since 1991. After his dental training, he completed a PhD and higher doctorate in pathology and dermatopathology, and then worked full time in dermatology as a postdoc from 1989-1990 at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. His published papers in dermatology have been cited highly in the medical literature, particularly those in the areas of allergy, inflammation and immunology of the skin. Laurie trained in biophotonics in the USA, and undertook research in the areas of sunburn and photodynamic therapy. After his return to Australia, he established a clinical and laboratory research program in laser science which continues to this day. Laurie has worked clinically with Class 4 lasers and been a clinical trainer in laser dentistry since 1991, teaching laser safety to students in all types of health care programs for over 20 years, including those in dermatology for the past 15 years. Laurie was a contributing author to the Australian and New Zealand laser safety standard AS4173. He has lectured internationally on laser safety and on the uses of lasers in clinical diagnosis and treatment, and he has published extensively in this area. He is the principal inventor for several families of patents in advanced optics, laser-based diagnosis and treatment systems, and laser fiber optic systems.


Dr David Cox


Dr David Cox achieved a Bachelor of Dental Science from the University of Queensland in 1982. Establishing David Cox Dental over twenty-five years ago after working in the UK, Dr David Cox has become a prominent figure within the dental industry.

Dr David Cox tutors in Sedation Dentistry and the utilisation of Nitrous Gas, as well as being the past Secretary of the Implant Society. He is a member of the European Society of Laser Application and the Co-ordinator of Cosmetic Reconstruction within the practice.

David lectures both nationally and internationally on lasers in dentistry and was the founding president of the Australian Association for Laser Dentistry.
