Anu Thakur is an Occupational Therapist who graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Science in 1999 and continued on to study Occupational Therapy, obtaining a Masters of Occupational Therapy Studies in 2001. Upon graduation Anu worked primarily within community health settings. To broadening her experience she moved in to a hospital setting at the Gold Coast Hospital in 2005, where she soon attained the position of a senior occupational therapist. Her passion led her back into the community setting where she developed her own business/ private practice. Following the birth of her daughter in 2010, Anu moved with her family to Brisbane, where she has integrated her passion and skills into her current private practice “Occupational Therapy at Home”.
In her private practice Anu works with adults and the elderly with a disability or injury specialising in home assessments, equipment prescription, home modifications and adult rehabilitation. Her focus is to assist her clients to live independently in their own environment. She acknowledges the importance of keeping clients in their own home and the benefits this has on their recovery, function and activity levels. She works towards achieving a safe environment where her clients can complete their daily tasks and occupation independently while minimising stress and injury.
