ADAQ provides high quality, professional dental assistant training.
Our training provides current, relevant courses and utilises the knowledge and skill of dental professionals in course delivery.
Our aim is to support dental assistants in their quest to reach the highest standards in knowledge, skill and attitude in regard to their chosen field and to support their informed involvement as an active part of trained dental teams.
Our Dental Assistant training courses are open to staff employed by ADAQ members, employees of Queensland Health Oral Health Service, and employees of University of Queensland Dental School. Non-eligible persons may make a written request for enrolment with ADAQ.
Training is offered in a variety of modes to meet the requirements of students and each course. Courses are part-time, enabling students to gain practical experience while working in a dental practice. Some units may be able to be completed if students are currently unemployed, but specific practical units require employment experience. Distance study mode is available for students unable to attend sessions.
The Certificate III in Dental Assisting qualification is undertaken by Dental Assistants all over Australia. This is a twelve month course offered twice per year with enrolments being taken in February and July. Traineeships are also available.
